Can't GM just learn how to build normal cars that don't fall apart by itself?

Rareair 04-07-2009 09:24 AM

That Segway/GM vehicle was featured in this mornings episode of the TODAY show

And the Titanic will never sink.

Having a system trying to balance itself on two wheels is incredibly inefficient. I calculated that the costs to run a normal Segway would exceed that of a Chevy Suburban because of battery replacement cost and frequency.

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid
And they wonder why they are going into bancruptcy.

FTD 04-09-2009 07:36 AM

I saw this in USA Today yesterday. Points made in the article were:
  • they want / recommend a separate line like a bicycle lane for these and other urban vehicles
  • Maximum distance between battery charges: 35 miles. [comes with a built in PITA]
  • Not in the article: hard on the eyes.

EXACTLY what I was thinking...

Woo hoo so Chrysler found a partner with Fiat, which ownes prestigious brands such as Alfa Romeo and Ferrari. GM found a partner with....Segway?!

GM seems to be the only car company that is ready to fall, except they won't even if they go into bankruptcy.
