PSM Off / ABS Lights Come on

I've researched this forum along with other forums trying to resolve this issue and haven't had any luck yet. I have a 2001 with 78,000 miles and the PSM/ABS lights are coming on while I'm driving under normal braking conditions. At first, I thought since my pads and rotors needed to be replaced, so I didn't react too quickly because if I would have turned the car off everything would reset and the rest of my trip would be fine.

I replaced the pads, the rotors and the brake fluid and the lights are still coming on and a little more often but still goes away after I restart the car. I did found someone mentioning that it could be a battery thing (turing off the non-important items first) but I haven't found anything to comfirm that or anything to test the theory except buying another battery (everything seems fine when starting the car or anything else electrical).

Appreciate anybody thoughts on this...

I have seen that on track in some Boxsters if the brake fluid is low... The car turns the PSM / ABS off to conserve normal braking (at least that is how it was explained to me).

So I would be checking the fluid level, the fluid level sensor, for air in the lines etc as a starting place.

mdex, thanks for the suggestion. I changed the brake fluid and made sure about air bubbles in the line, but didn't think about the fluid level sensor. Do you know where's it located?

You didn't get all the air out of the system. Try re-bleeding (preferably with a power bleeder) and the light will stay off.

The lights started coming on way before I changed the brake fluid and when I bled the system I used a power bleeder. I'm pretty sure it's not an air bubble issue, but if nothing else works I still have some brake fluid left on the shelf. Thanks.
