I don't have any first hand experience upgrading the Boxster audio system, but I have read a lot of threads on it. I would recommend you do a search here and on RennTech. There are lots of instructions on how to replace the speakers, and some discussion about what people replaces the stock setup with.
The two most popular brands tend to be Polk and MB Quart. The dash speakers tend to make the biggest difference, with door speakers and a sub adding a bit more. Rear speakers help fill in the sound, which is great for topless driving. A hardtop will help make the car sound better too.

I have to ask, has anyone seen a decent looking HU? Preferably one that matches the Becker, all the aftermarket ones tend to be chrome or something.
