Does a normal OBD2 code reader work on Boxsters ?

Hi. 'thinking of getting a 2000 or 2001 Boxster. I've owned VW, Audi, and BMWs before and worked on them all myself. For diagnostics, does a normal, generic OBD2 code reader work on Parsche Boxsters?

Short answer... yes. You can read most codes and reset many with a generic code reader.

There are several which cannot be reset without the Porsche specific PST2 or PIWIS testers.

As a DIY, you'll me able to do most things with a generic scanner.
