Most people on this forum whould have installed 996 gauges would probably have done so in conjunction with a 3.4 or 3.6 996 engine swap (The regular Boxster gauges won't work with the electronics necessary for the new engine). It would entail installing an oil sensor - but I've seen that written up on this or other forums.

Another issue is resetting the odometer. I don't think anyone besides a dealer can do that - and I'm not even sure that they can.
