IMS failures 06 or later?

From doing background reading on Boxster intermediate shaft failures, I gather Porsche responded with a redesigned bearing and cover in late 2005 or 2006 MY.

My question is simple: anyone heard of an IMS failure on a 2006 or later model?

I've been paying a fair amount of attention and i haven't heard of any yet. I had my RMS leak once on my 2005 but they replaced it with yet another revised seal and haven't had any problems since (30,000 miles ago or so).

Check out (search) the archives of the past year at ppbb for IMS failures. You'll find what you are looking for.

Following your suggestion, I couldn't find anyone presenting evidence of problems on ppbb or here.

I'm not going to worry about it...

I think that is a very reasonable attitude. Either way, there is not much one can do about it. Best is to go out and enjoy the car
