WFT? my axle fell off, 2nd time
 

yup, all 6 bolts came loose, i put them back...
then, when i was putting the exhaust on i noticed that they are loose again, and took them all out, cleaned them, and put some loctite on them, and freggin came loose again, but this time 2 of the bolts actually broke off and other ones came loose.

how else can i screw these bolts in and have them stay in???

You should always use new bolts. I admit that I do not always on my 944. But then again I have had the same problems that you describe.

Cleaning the bolts and loctite is good. But also make sure that there is no grease in the holes. You can use q-tips to check and clean.

Also make sure that they are torqued properly.

I think I am finally going to get a drilling jig and safety wire the bolts. SwayAway makes these but in the wrong thread size. I don't want them loosening in a enduro.

so going to the dealer and telling them thats what i need, they should have it in stock? or would a hardware store have these? they are just allen bolts...

Dealer may or may not have them. If you can locate the specs of the bolts (appropriate grade, size, length, and pitch) and duplicate this at the hardware store, hypothetically, yes. That said, even though this isn't aviation where severe penalties can be issued for not using "approved parts," I'm not sure I'd risk not having the exact correct fastener and suffering a failure. I would purchase from the dealer or online equivalent.

They should have them in stock, you can get them many places online as well. The bolts are common for CV's. Grade 12.9 8x45 I believe. But unless you buy bulk it is no more expensive to get stock ones.

As far as factory parts it depends. Some materials and processes are far to expensive for the factory to use so aftermarket can be better. I bought longer wheel studs from SAW because they were made out of super high strength CroMoly. They were lighter and stronger but cost a pretty penny.

Though I did buy the factory belt for my 987 to appease the Porsche gods; that and it says Porsche on the belt. The ink makes it stronger :-)
