Hardtop mounting

Hi all,

I'm wondering what I need to do to mount a 1998 hardtop to my 2002 boxster. What modifications would I need to make? Where I can do this and the cost? How about the ease of mounting. Any info would help.

Thanks in advance.

There is a work on cars day for Jan. 15th on renntech.org. Some of us have the hardtop.

Actually I don't have the hardtop yet. I'm just looking into buying one. Now I wish I had it already :( I'm just wondering how much effort and cost is involved with the 98 hardtop to a 02 boxster.

Installation of the the spinlocks, one each side beside the rollbar, thats all.

They may already be there from a previous owner ?

Hardtop locks into each of these and the front header rail latch

Its not bad. The adjustment is a little tricky, but nothing difficult. I put a 97 top on my 2000 boxster. The spinlocks are pretty easy to put in. You have to tighten the bolts that hold the spinlocks in place. That more tricky, but if you know what you're doing, its not too tough.

I got lots of help from the folks here. Toolpants and UKBXSTR were very helpful.

Tha parts cost roughly 120 I think. If you do a search, you can find the part numbers on this board. Its where I got them.

Good Luck
