Spoiler not going down - spoiler extender light on
 

Today my spoiler extender indicator light went off. My spoiler goes up but does not come down automatically. I can lower it manually with the spoiler switch located near the fuse panel. Any ideas? Do you think the motor is going bad? It operates fine manually so to me it seems computer related. Checked the fuse and it clears.

It could be the relay. In the rear relay panel in the trunk, relay #3 (top row, 3rd from the left) is the spoiler extention relay. Relay #9 (just below #3) is the spoiler retraction relay. Try swapping them and see if the problem doesn't reverse itself. If so, you need to replace the relay. Also, just pulling the relay could cause it to make contact because it developed some corrosion/dirt on one of the pins, or because it wasn't properly seated. Hope that fixes it. There are other possible causes, but the relay s/b eliminated 1st.
