sway bar question

Will sway bars from a 996TT fit the 986. IIRC they will fit the GT3 and thus they would or am I wrong???

As far as I know the GT-3 will give you a 26mm sway but have heard it is pretty harsh for the street. I added a M030 24mm bar to my '02 2.7 and it sure corners flat. Was just at the Monticello track yesterday and the car was fantastic on some of the trick turns...it does not lean. Don't know if that helps at all but some on this list have extensive knowledge on this subject and can correct my info. if it is off.

996TT Sway Bar

Nope, I don't think so. The 996 front end is basically the same as the Boxster 986 front end, thus the GT3 bar will indeed fit fine (with aftermarket end links). I've got one on my car. Sway bars themselves generally do not affect NVH, so I wouldn't really call the GT3 "harsh", but it certainly is stiff and would not be great by itself. You'd want to balance it with a stiff rear bar or you'd end up with a lot of understeer.

The 996 rear end is completely different from the 986 so I don't think that any bars for the rear would cross over to the Boxster.

The 996TT is completely different in the front from the 986 because you have to remember that the front wheels of the TT are also driven, so it's not like the standard 996 or 986. I think what you heard about the 996TT sway bar fitting the GT3 is incorrect.

So in summary... I would not expect either of the sway bars from the 996TT to cross over to the 986.
