clear oil

Does anybody know where the origin of such a leak could be? It's coming from the passenger side, rear. I really mean clear, no tint (such as Pentosin, for example).

Anybody? It seems to be increasing with each passing day.

You sure it's oil,oil isn't clear? Where on the passenger side is it coming from?

brake/clutch fluid can be "clear" comparatively speaking...

How much is there and where is it leaking from?

I'm wondering if it isn't compressor oil from the AC, maybe a blown 'o' ring going into the receiver/dryer, etc.

Possible it could be brake fluid... there are clear brake fluids, what color is the fluid in the brake reservoir?

If it's compressor oil, you don't want to run the AC until you get it repaired. But, there is a low pressure switch which will cutout the compressor if you lose too much refrigerant/oil.

I'm going to look some more and will possibly concentrate more along the a/c route as you've suggested, LB.

This fluid is definitely clear; looks like machine oil, actually. This is why LB's guess is making some sense to me- some kind of ester/pag oil?

All other fluids I've seen have had some tint to them. I'm going to see if I can post a picture.

Thanks for the input thus far.

My guess would be brake fluid. The stock fluid is almost clear.
