convertible top problem
 

i have a 98 boxster.the cover that has the interior light and is where the top latches to is not attached to the car frame anymore.the threaded nuts inside the frame have broken into pieces and now there is no way to bolt it back in.has this happened to anyone and if so how did you fix it. sorry if i repeated this post i wasnt sure if i sent it right the first time.

This has happened before and someone has addressed the issue using nutserts. There's a DIY page floating around out there that will show you the way. Actually, I have a PDF with the information you need. Shoot me an email and I'll attach it.

here's the r&r I wrote up about a year ago when I had to fix mine. The hardest part of the job is getting the old retainers out but once you get the hang of it, you're home free (tips listed on DIY). Good luck! :)
