hard to start. any ideas?

Over the past year or so, the boxster takes more turns of the starter to start. It allways starts, just seems to be more of an effort lately. When cold, the engine seems sluggish (never stalls), but only lasts a second.
I have replaced plugs, Cleaned MAF, Changed oil, new air filter, good gas, new belt. The car just had a 60,000 miles tune up at 50K miles..
Any Ideas? Am i just worrying for nothing?

2002 S 50,000 miles.

Thanks for any help,
James

It's probably the battery or the starter. When was the battery replaced?

The battery is the same one that came with the car in 02. Is there an easy way to test without buying a new battery first?

If the battery is 6 years old, I would pretty much guarantee that is causing your problem. Autozone may be able to check it. I would get this taken care of quickly because getting into a locked Boxster when the battery dies is a pain.
