Getting a new top in about one month. What is the best UV treatment for hot Florida sun?

Where did you buy it? A guy off Ebay sells them for about $425.00, compared to something like $2800.00 from the dealership!

I need one too, so do reply if you found a better price on one than $425.

It is a warranty replacement, so no cost to me. Any special treatment you use for Houston area? I used to live in Galveston, and I know how blazing it gets there.

Do a Google on 3M or scotch guard. They may make something ot help you out.

Haven't used it myself since my car is still fairly new, but RaggTopp is highly recommended by the convertible community as well as the manufacturers.

Are there any products out there that help make the plastic more pliable?

This won't make it more pliable, but will help prevent it from hardening. It's called Plexus.

Never used it, but I've heard good reviews on it.

I have been using Raggtop for the last month. Its the only product that the manufacturer will officaly sanction.
they sell a two bottle kit. One for cleaning and one for protecting it. You should use only an OXO feather tip brush to clean it.

The protectant creates a very tight beading effect, which is vital for canvas tops. when dirt begins to penetrate into the fabric is when the top begins to deteriorate.

The kit is $25 on Autogeek.net

Also when going to a car wash don't let them put soap on the top, just have them rinse it thoroughly. Don't let them use the wash mit on the glass or platic window either.
Plexus is absoulutely the best product for plastic, use an old Tshirt and it stays crystal clear. Great on head and tail lights.

As far as UV protection in the HOT Florida sun I would DEFINITELY consider buying a Subrealla top cover, I have one now and it not only protects the top but covers the windows to keep your interior from fading. I paid $50 for it.
Keep the bird dropping off your top as well.

Thanks Perfectlap, I've got my stuff on order. I already have a sunbrella cover from sportscarsolutions.com for the cockpit, and promise to use it religiously ... even when late for meetings! I'll post a pic of my new Metropol Blue top when it get's installed. Thanks, again.
