Moral of the story- don't buy salvage title cars out of NOLA!

I bought this car and turned it into mine.

Just joking.

It would make a great parts car....anyone know of any in New Orleans??

Growing up the car magazines said how amazing Porsches are. Was I brainwashed? Somehow...I doubt it.

You never know the financial condition of the person who owned that car. They might have purposely left it knowing they could collect the insurance money, pay off the note, and get out from under a car they couldn't afford to keep after they lost everything.

I meet people every day who are driving cars they cannot afford to own. Half the BMW drivers in Houston are this way.

It not only was left behind, the window was opened. I think the owner clearly wanted bad things to happen to this car.

True. I hadn't thought of that. Way back when I had an Audi that I would have gladly left in a flood. Nobody would buy the damn thing.

I would cry if that happened to my Boxster though.

I remember when Hurricane Andrew came through.. i was living in ft. Lauderdale at the time and we were only able to take a certain # of cars ( week took the pontiac fiero and a van with newborn daughter).. had a brand new ford taurus that had to be left behind.. thankfully we only lost a couple of trees and no flooding damage
