Climate Control on/off

I was curious hearing from others as to whether they turn climate control to off or just leave on AUTO all the time when turning off ignition.

Always off unless I'm driving long distance on the highway with the top up, at which point I control it manually.

I am a control freak, I have it always at ON on Manual.
I was wondering by the way, sometime at Automatic it give a fan boost, how can I reach that extra fan power on manual?

thanks

My 987 has a max AC button that blows full blast on the fan. It also goes to a higher fan setting when I push the 'recirculate" button. Mine does not have climate control, just standard AC.
Even in Florida with a black car and black top, the AC is more than adequate.

The north?? Ha... I guess it's all relative, but I'm in the bowels of the country here. 100% humidity is the norm in the mornings, 60-80% the rest of the day. Add 80-100 degrees to that, and it sucks.

I turn it off before turning the car off. I just dont like to start the car with the compressor engaged... I am not sure if it actually makes a difference. My AC is actually so cold that if I leave a water in the cup holder in front of the vent, it stays cold for as long as I am in the car.

Thank you Porsche!

Yeah, I'm from south-central Ohio, originally, and it can get hot and sticky there, too. We just have it from March until November, here in Florida! Humidity figures look about right for here, again, March til November.

Garage
I always keep it manual. The automatic feature always does more than I want. If I want 2-3 bars blowing, the auto always does 5-6. It gets really annoying.

I try to avoid using the compressor, as it robs the engine of power. So unless it's really bothering me or the girlfriend, 2-4 bars of regular fan is all I use in "Manuell" mode. And yes, for our southern friends, it gets hot in Toronto! We're in the 30's..er....I mean "90+" fahrenheit plus humidity all week, which is pretty normal for summer. But I'm usually driving around in morning or evening, so at least it's not mid-day.
