Just installed new pads and rotors, but..
 

When I first drove it from the shop i noticed i had to step on the pedal really hard to get some stopping power..? Is this normal right after the new pads/rotors? It was new pagid pads in the front and front rotors, rear was fine and they did bleed the brakes. It started getting better on way home after i did "embedding" procedure but still im thinking a porsche should have a touchier pedal than that after new pads and rotors?? :confused:

Oh, you mean "bedded-in."
 

Sounds like they may not have been bled completely/properly, perhaps?

It does sound like there's still some air in the system.

I emptied my system when I painted the calipers, and I had to use a little over 2 ltrs. of fluid, even using a power bleeder, to get all the air out of the system and get a good firm pedal.

I would check for air, but some pads do take time to bed-in and grip like they should. It depends on the type of pad. Also if you put a race pad in, many do not work well until they are up to temp. So you get less braking until everything is hot, hence they are not recommended for street use (I do anyways).

Drive it a little bit more and then bleed again.

Thanks for the replies guys, it was the OEM pagid brakes. If it doesnt get better soon i'll take it back again. I took it back once and guy drove and came back with my brakes smoking, wonder what the heck he did. Also i paid 800 for the fronts, sound right?

$800 sounds pretty rich
 

Which Pagid--model number-- did they put on? IIRC, the OE versions run about $120/axle.

I had my front pads and rotors done for $500 at a Porsche/BMW/MB specialist. So I'd say $800 is higher than I'm used to.
