2001 2.7 remote trunk unlock - switch to rear trunk?

I have a 2001 2.7L

Unlike the S models, my remote key only has 1 trunk-opening button and it opens the front trunk.

I always use the rear trunk only. Is it possible to have the one button on my key open the rear trunk instead of the front trunk?

A 2001 should have 3 buttons. How many do you have.

I agree with ToolPants ... I have a 2001 2.7 and both of my keys have 3 buttons - door, front trunk, rear trunk.

That's odd. My key only has 2 buttons (Unlock and trunk). Gee, is mine really a 2001???

Does everyone with a 2001 have a 3-button key?

You must have a 2001 because 1997-2000 did not have an electric front trunk release.

I take it the key head is black plastic and you are not the original owner.

Sounds like for whatever reason you have a 2 button remote used on the 1997-2000 Boxster, or 2001-2004 996.

When the car was new it had 2 remotes and a valet key. Do you have the other remote?
