convertible top cables ???

I was closing the top tonight on my 98 boxster with 88 k miles no problems yet its been a great car, when I got out to help it in on the sides I never had to do this with the factory top , this one is a robbins my second one ,the first one a no name brand from ebay for $350 did not fit very good so they sent me a new one free and paid to have it put on again ,the shop said they cant do anything about it ,it also is the new version with the helper straps to help it in the groove, I just deal with it I also have to get out and chop the rear window while putting it down, i am scared that it may crack the plastic window is way bigger then the last one , anyways while it was half closed while looking in the rear down inside there I noticed the passenger side cable one with the balls on the ends was frayed pretty good ,are these the ones that always snap ??do they just pull the top open or do they both open and close the top ,I will order a new one monday

I can not even comprehend what you are saying. I do not see a single period in that entire paragraph.
