One of my sisters boyfriends wanted to chrome paint a corsica.... Fortunately she's not with that guy anymore. As for the gold, I though black was hard to keep clean, anything that shiny paint or otherwise must be awful to keep clean.

And pink boxsters? I've got a friend who has pink wheels on a blue boxster, looks pretty good actually! I think the wheels are all pink now but this was the only pic I could find.

I think the pink and blue on your friend's car looks good because it's got a racing look. But when you start just randomly painting wheels pink it just doesn't work.

Someone did a gold boxster a while ago, and it looked just as bad.
I wouldn't want a gold car, blue is hard enough to keep clean.

The pink on that racing Boxster looks okay. The owner is actually a member here:

What is that book about? I can't read the small print on the cover.

"How I sank a small fortune into a used car and other misfortunes" is the subtitle.

Sheesh. I could have written that book easily.
