pics of the work done on the bike...
just wanted to update everyone on the bike situation.
heres what i did to the thing: -raised the back of the bike, removed the loweing links -raised the front, forks not stickig out anymore, then adjusted all the setting, like dampening, rebound etc. guy that had it before drag raced it so it was set up like that... 600cc bike, lol -installed a stock kickstand couse the original one was cut to compensate for lowered stance. -installed shogun cut frame sliders -black coated header/midpipe -M4 carbon fiber exhaust -LED flushmounts -integrated tail light -red rings in headlights. -all decals removed, including bottom yamaha one -got a z-II shoei helmet, and joe rocket gloves and jacket next, i need heavier bar-ends and different grips to stop all this handlebar vibration (buzzing), and get pazzo short levers. that would be it for this season, and then prolly paint it urban camo :) ooo btw, do not ride your bike without latchign the back seat completely, flew right off :( ooo and lookout, couse i got a powdercaoting machine now  heres a pic or two http://i31.tinypic.com/jpfq1c.jpg http://i30.tinypic.com/30mo481.jpg http://i25.tinypic.com/nbagig.jpg and this is a camo photoshop im thinking about. already got a guy that will do it for me http://i25.tinypic.com/do10cy.jpg |
The bike looks sleek. The camo looks rediculous
|
The bike looks great.
|
Very nice  but not sure about the camo  IMHO...
|
I have to agree with Unkle here - camo doesn't look great (maybe it looks better in person?)
Very nice bike! A good friend of mine got an R1 a few weeks back - I'll show him the red rings in your lights, I think he'll want to get them once he sees your pics. |
Hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
thx guys.
so far so good with the bike, now the tail lights is also tinted (well black hehe) and about the camo, i think that there was maybe too much going on, so i left out the flat black portion, does this look better? http://i25.tinypic.com/6pyce1.jpg |
and btw, here are the tail lights.
also, all the shiny silver you see (footpegs and all) will be powdercoated black :) http://i31.tinypic.com/1111rhl.jpg |
DJ, In my opinion, the camo looks better in picture 2, but with something that looks so sharp without it, I say leave it black. It really looks like a work of art in all black, especially if you powdercoat more parts... The camo just looks really cheesy to me. I guess thats why 3 of 3 of my cars are black with black wheels, and black windows.
If you like the look of the rainbows, no one here will change your opinion though and it only needs to make one person smile... the one paying the insurance bill! Keep us updated |
dj,
I think the camo looks wicked ! Nick |
I like the camo.
DO IT! |
thx guys,
Nick, what the deal with you and your bike situation? |
Funny that you ask...
I was going to take a look at this over the weekend : http://www.cycletrader.com/find/listing/2001-SUZUKI-GSXR600K1-GSXR600-92832490 Well, my wife pretty much told me last night no flippin' way ! ( which I guess makes sense. BTW - she's two months pregnant :D ) Nick |
DJ..leaving some black out...Way Better  I'm loving it :D
Nick...that's a good news! Congrats buddy and I understand why your wifey don't want you to get a bike :) |
Nick, great man, congrats.
too bad about the bike tho, btw thats my fav style gixxer |
I think the camo is okay. I still like the black better. As for the tinted lights. It looks nice but I'm not big on blacking out things that allow others to see you better. I've been there, done that and after doing it, I detemined it's just not worth it.
Keep up the good work but get rid of the tail light tint. -Moto Quote:

its transparent black, so u can see it same as without it, a buddy of mine has a stock r6 and looks the same, plus now i also added LED turnsignals in rear footpegs
|
Not bad, DJ.
When are you going to take her to the track to learn to ride her? |
Hey Nick, nice choice. I have the same style GSXR but a 2002 GSXR 750. No glamour shots, but one track shot of it mint before it took a spill:
http://www.darkoven.com/bike1.jpg Fortunately only got the fairing scraped up a little (tried to push it a little hard in 'the bowl'). Hey DJ, you coming around the LA area any time soon? Perhaps you can help me figure out how to repaint it;) -David |
David, thats my fav body gixxer :)
Chills, man we gotta get together and ride one of these days (did u end up going to shermans rocket ride by any chance?) |
Nah DJ, I'm in Socal, but it sounds really cool. Is it really thousands of bikes out at one event?
|

Yeah man we really do. You should come out to CLSB bike night. ;) Nah, I stay away from train-wrecks like that. When I do group rides its with a small group of riders with which I've ridden for a while. Did you go on that rocket ride? |
haha, pretty funny, couse i said ill avoid those rides too, and completely forgot what day, and ended up in the group ride by accident hahah.
but then i went home, and rode w a buddy to see the stunt show. on q101.com they have the video, it was pretty cool, a LOT of bikes there and Chills, im planning on making it out there to the bike night (tonite actually)... i PMd u my cell |
