Fender Stickers?!?! - or other retro stuff

Am I loosing it or weren't older racing Porsches addorned with a crest sticker wrapped over the front fender (ferrari style). If so, has anyone seen a boxster done this way?
I'm trying to take my car in a more retro direction and am looking for ideas to revive some older styling cues.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but I added these side emblems (ordered from Porsche) to accent my boxster and make it look more personalized than the other boxsters in my area. Plus I think they look cool when the top is down. I know that a lot of people think the side emblem thing is a "Ferrari" thing, but I think it looks nice on porsches if done correctly.

ViO - definitely on the right track! thanks for addiing the pics...this is pretty similar to what I was thinking...I sort of had in my mind that they'd be a little further forward that where you put yours (maybe over the wheel well)...but I like your approach too.
What did you order? are those stickers or actual badges?

Also: They are Vinyl Decal's by the way, the Large Emblem Decals (I think its like 3 1/2") from Porsche's selection off their main website. I think they look nice in contrast to the color wheel caps.

Actually, Porsche factory racing cars seldom carried the Porsche crest on the side of the car. Nose yes, tail yes, sides no.
I have seen pictures of German Hillclimb Championship cars circa 1960 with the crest on the fenders, and some Targa Florio cars from the same era similarly marked, but they were the exception.

After over 5 years of Boxstering I have see the crest added to many places, including the fenders. It is not for me.

For the guy in Sunnyvale, I have some crest decals I bought in 1999 from Automotion in Sunnyvale. Automotion was bought up a few years ago by Performance Products. If you go to one of our local events and remind me I will try and find them and give them to you.

2 years ago a local Boxster owner friend turned in his leased 1998. He had the colored crest center caps, and I have the plain ones. We were going to swap caps, but I saw no reason.

I see no reason to stick the name Porsche, Boxster, or the crest all over my car. I know what it is.

This is what happens when you get old......
