Question about low speed for radiator fans.

Now that I have my Boxster back from the shop (small fire from a failed power steering hose) and that part is all better I am back to my original quest. Although I don't overheat, I don't have low speed on either L or R fans. I replaced both resistors but that didn't do the trick.

Besides the odd chance that both relays have failed is there anywhere else I should look?

Hi speed does work fine as does when the AC is turned on.
Thanks
Chris

Relays... !

I am ordering four new relays as they are cheap, but I swapped a couple around and there was no change. I still only had Hi-Speed. Hopefully replacing all the Relays does something. It is either that or the low speed really (to me) seems the same as the hi speed that comes one when you run the AC.

well, there is no set point for the crossover from low to high speed on the cooling fans. This is determined by the DME using several parameters incl. coolant temp, ambient temp, driving condition, possibly even the sun sensor from the climate control.

It's easy to initiate high-speed because the AC causes this as a default, but low-speed isn't easy... maybe by pulling the high speed relays.

If you can find someone with a PST2 you can test the fans, both high and low speeds.

The jackals at the the indy porsche shop that has my car right now just called me to tell me that they found this same problem in my car, and said that it was a "minor" issue.

I asked how minor(clearly meaning how much to fix)? $250.
