Which brand of CD-R discs work in a CDR-220?

I've tried two so far.. one doesn't read at all (Error) and the other brand plays track one only, skipping to track to results an "Error".

Regular CD's work fine..

Anybody know which CD-R brands are known to work with a CDR-220 deck?

Same thing happens with me. I think the unit just can't handle the CD-R discs... it's not a brand issue.

When I get an error, I just eject it and keep popping it back in until I hear music.

I can't remember the model number of my deck offhand, but I have had no issues with using CD-R disks in mine, both Ritek and TDK brands. This is engraved in my mind because I went crazy one day when I thought the deck was having trouble reading CD-R disks, because it was jumping all over the place with a forward/back track selection... I was certain it was a problem with the recorded disks... then I realized the deck was on random play!

I've had no problems with Maxell CD-R's.

OK, I have confirmed I have the same deck, the CDR-220, so Ritek and TDK (and as ddb indicates, Maxell) should work for you. If it matters, I am using a Memorex Ultraspeed recorder but limiting the recording speed to 24x at the time of burning the CD (more due to a USB 1.1 bandwidth limitation on my old PC rather than a recorder/disk issue). Good luck...
