My car got HIT......OUCH!

:ah:

On my way to work, my car got hit by an illegal spanish guy without a license.... Thank god, the car he was driving ( 90 accord ) with NC plates ( I live in CT ) was insured. Excuse the pics, took them with my phone. Here it is, It was an 02 Boxster w/ 18 3.6 Rh 3 Piece wheels Rear wing, and mesh grills all around. My suspension is shot too, rim is bent etc etc. etc. I nearly strangled him. At lest it not summer any more, or I would have really strangles him.

aesir 11-19-2004 07:42 AM

Wow...sorry to hear about that. Hope things workout with the other cars insurance.

Subanez 11-19-2004 09:03 AM

Good lord...that's a nightmare!

Perfectlap 12-01-2004 10:44 AM

Those Spaniards they still think they're in Madrid running rampant on our streets. Say how did you know he was illegal?

PeterJoyce 12-01-2004 03:50 PM

Is he leaving the country?

porsche986 12-11-2004 09:22 AM

so annoying, it will effect your insurance and its not even your fault.

really do hope you get it sorted out,

perfectlap you can always tell the illegal ones by this....

The ones that are legal dont get jobs and claim off the country. The illegal ones are proberly on there way to work. lol

Brucelee 12-11-2004 12:14 PM

Have you verified the insurance coverage? Did you get enough ID to detain or deport this turd?

You have my total sympathy on this one. Perhaps we can have a Porsche sponsored lynching?

Lynching? No wonder the 'Porsche Prick' stereotype survives.
Sure I was pissed when I got hit a month ago, but a sane person doesn't lnych people in this country.

I have no idea whether you actually are a bigot - but it sure sounded like it on this post.

Brucelee 12-12-2004 10:11 PM

Lighten up, it was a joke. AND, illegal is illegal. Deportation is appropriate and legally indicated.

RandallNeighbour 12-13-2004 05:55 AM

Two weeks after I got my lexus LS400 it was hit in an intersection by a fellow from Mexico, here illegally, driving his nephew's Ford Fiesta, which had no insurance on it.

The cop said he should have arrested him, but it was just a waste of time.

He swore he'd pay back every penny... right!

Well, two years later, I got a letter from my insurance company saying he did exactly that... paid back every penny of the 2800.00 State Farm paid to repair my car. Rates never went up.

The man was a man of his word. It must have taken every extra dollar he could save to pay that off as poor as he looked.

Perfectlap 12-13-2004 06:02 AM

yeah lynching jokes are not cool. Porsche owners are allegedly more sophisticated about the world than say... mustang and corvette owners? You know, "a more refined person" Well that's the perception.

I'm still trying to find out if this illegal alien from Spain (because he was referred to as "a Spanish guy") is really on a tourist or student visa and this has all been a big terrible misunderstanding.

The last time I heard someone in the office refer to "a illegal spanish guy" it was a secretary reffering to a cleaning guy who she suspected of stealing her cell phone. She later found it and we later found out the cleaning guy was a refugee from Cuba who was going to night school.
Not at all "illegal", Just didn't speak English. I later pointed this out to her (the secretary..err administrative assistant) and she just looked at me like "uh...so.....what's your point...whatever?".

As much as we love our car (posessions), that all it is.

If someone was to carjack your Boxster at gunpoint, would you lay your life on the line for it?

Consider yourself lucky that you walked away from your accident. That's why we have insurance. If this accident was not your fault, then this should not count against you. If the other party is uninsured and you have uninsured motorist waiver coverage, then even your deductable is covered.

I look at this as an opportunity to upgrade or do more mods!

Yes. He could have t-boned you and then you could have spent 10 months laying in a hospital bed with a broken back. < Not good.

I would be super hot but I wouldn't direct it at the other person.

Good job on not strangling hm by the way!

Sorry i cant see any lynching here... I happen to agree with brucelee.

If it was me i would ask for beheading, never mind deportation.
An illegal is illegal no matter who they are.. The the porsche prick will never go... its part of owning a porsche. It comes with the car you drive...

St. Louis Boxster 01-05-2005 04:35 AM

Wow what a picture !! This guy hit you right in the front end of your car! I wonder, did the the guy that hit you get a ticket from the cops?

I hope Jaygo44 posts the end of the story here. I hope that if indeed the other driver's insurance company comes through and pays off as it should, we all get to share in that piece of information as well.

I drive a 2004 Boxster and was born in Cuba and became a naturalized citizen when I was 10 years old. Let's keep this forum on Porsche issues and not get into things we don't know anything about.

Brucelee 01-05-2005 06:02 AM

Congrats Gus and welcome to the forum. I think the point I was making is related to the illegal part of immigration. In CA, this is a very large problem, esp with uninsured illegals driving cars.

I for one don't want to be the one hit by one of these guys.

I disagree.

The car don't make you a prick - you had to be one before the car.
If that's the perceived stereotype, then change it. Show them the
smart, practical person that bought the car for what it is. If you
bought the car and believed the hype then I don't think you're
getting your money's worth. There's a lot cheaper cars out
there that will make you just as big of a prick.

Stereotypes were meant to be broken and the amazed look on
people's faces is - (as the commercial says) PRICELESS.

I empathize with jaygo44, but condemn the act not the ethnicity
or the status of the other driver.

OK, my work here is done. Let's move on...

porsche986 01-05-2005 08:11 AM

Porsche Prick isnt because of the person, its the car.

Its a defo word, PP...

It comes with idea of owning a porsche. same as ferrari fag.
It dont bother me, instead of saying porsche prick they might as well be saying, nice car, wish i had one.
If you bought a porsche thinking you can cruize with no insults your living in dreamland
I agree its time to change it however it will be hard as jellousy will never go,

have you never had insults or had porsche prick shouted at you from a bus ect...?

Porsche prick isnt because of snobby drivers, its because you have a porsche and it will never go.

However i do see your point, moving on..

IceBox 01-09-2005 08:24 AM

I have no idea whether you actually are a bigot - but it sure sounded like it on this post.

You know, this whole PC pontificating really annoys me. I see no bigotry here, just an off-colour remark germain to the situation. It seems people look for racism in every little statement, and then rush in to show how even-handed and high-minded they think they are. It's comments like this that ruin boards, turning a vote of sympathay for jaygoo44 into a silly 'you're a racist' discussion. If thats the direction this board is going, I'll be leaving it too! And I just posted last night that you don't find that garbage here. Boy how a day can change alot. Grow up.

Brucelee 01-09-2005 12:24 PM

I think we can keep this simple and defuse the situation. The issue was not one of race but one of legal and insurance status. The person was described as an illegal alien and one with no insurance.

This gives rise to all sorts of legal offenses, ie the person is by definition a criminal. Some of us have an issue about paying for the consequences of illegals and others who choose not to purchase auto insurance. That is not bigotry nor racism, simply common sense and self protection of our person and property.
