Thikning of getting a 2000 boxster

hey guys thiinking of getting a year 2000 boxster with 35k miles on it. Just got out of my 97 with 47k miles on it. The rms started to leak and needed a complete front and back brake and rotor change plus a control arm repair on the left, plus the oil air separator was going nd the drivers window regulator needed to be replaced. Didn't want to spend the money so i sold it. Now I'm looking into a 2000 boxster. Its got the bigger engine from my 2.5 but is it really that noticeable... also the 2000 has traction control... don't want to sound stupid but what's it for as my 97 did not have it. Any problems other than the regular stuff to look for in the car. Also i was thinking of doing a ppi but its in southern california and i'm up north... The last car i had, i didn't do a ppi and didn't have too many problems in first year of ownership...
