HELP.. car will not start

A few days ago I got in my '01 boxster turned the key and nothing happened. The windows wouldn't move up or down and trunks wouldn't open. Everything else seemed to operate fine (radio, wiper, lights, etc...) I checked the fuse and there fine. Then next day the car started fine. Then today nothing again. The day before this all began we had a bad rainstorm and my top leaked a bit getting the carpet a little wet. This caused high humidity in the car. I Think this could have possibly been a contributing factor. Anyone have any suggestions before I tow it to the shop.
Thanks.

Could be a bad ignition switch or you got your Alarm Control Module under the driver seat wet and shorted it out.

I hope for your sake it's ignition switch.

well the carpet under the seat did get wet. The first thing I thought of was an alarm issue because of the windows and trunk locks so you may be onto something. Thanks for the input.
