P-C Buffer

Pulled out the Christmas present I gave myself and like everything else I touch it quickly degenerated into crap. I wasn't sure wish pieces to buy so I bought one of the Auto-Geek packages. Got the buffer, orange pads, polish, etc., I thought I was ready. The only problem is that there is no way to anchor the orange pad to the buffer. I went back to the web site and looked at the packages and I don't see where it tells me I need anything else. Anyone have a clue as to what is missing?

Tom

You're looking for the velcro-backed buffing pad backing plate.

make sure to the flexible kind (backing plate). And **ALWAYS** hold the pc with BOTH hands when doing the horizontal surfaces. Ask me how I learned this...

Tie a rubber band between the extension cord and the PC cord. It will keep it from disconnecting when the cord gets stuck under the tires.

Thanks guys. I don't know how they can sell a kit, ostensibly for those who don't have a buffer, sell you the pads that won't work without the plate and feel good about it.

^ That way you have to make a second order spend $20 on a backing plate and since you don't want to spend $8 shipping on a $20 item you end up buying other stuff. Sometimes local autobody shop sell these things, you might try the yellowbook.

Yeah, that seems wrong. Are you sure they didn't forget to include it? I don't know which kit you bought, but the picture of this kit shows the backing plate.
