DYI rear plastic window.

Has anyone purchased the DYI plastic replacement window kit on line and did it work? I'm thinking of buying the kit for a hundred and installing what is supposed to be better quality material. It also comes with tinted plastic for $18 more. Let me know what you think.

I have. It is a lot of work, much more than I had anticipated.

The material is not as clear as the original window material, but seems more supple and compliant. If you are not a hardcore DIYer and do not have someone to help you with the stitching I would recommend you find a shop willing to stitch in a new window with the canvas still on the frame. The entire convertible top (canvas & frame) is surprisingly easy to remove. Most shops want to remove the canvas from the frame, that is where it gets expensive.

I attempted this on my old Z3 and just about lost my sanity and still did not finish it. I had to take it to a local upholstry shop for them to finish it. IT SUCKED BAD!!!!
