Where do you park your Porsche?

Always, far away and walk - all my cars. Once a long time ago, parked "normally" in a close spot and the silly lady (just happened to be a lady, ladies) opens her door randomly and dings my door right when I'm sitting in car waiting for my wife, and admits it, and says she'll pay for any repairs.......then denies it at the insurance place. In the end she had to pay, but the nerve...

Downright liar. No more, far away and walk. It's good to walk anyways - last night I did this with my wife for 20y and held hands - how sweet, I know. Everyone hates dings and if you don't, well....

Speaking of ladies.....

I once returned to my car and found a note under my windsheild wiper:

"Sorry I broke your tail light, please call me xxx-xxx-xxxx."

When I called her, she said: "I always back my Cadillac up until I gently touch the car behind me." "Your tail light must be very cheaply made!"

I try to park in the safest spot possible. Unfortunately, I often have to park in very crowded garages downtown and there aren't the safest options. I do my best though.

My friend's dad used to baby his 928 and always park it on an end spot. One day somebody side swiped him.

In the garage...I don't trust people period. A door ding on my black car would stick out like a sore thumb. My daily driver (Jeep Grand Cherokee) wears the scars of the world on it's sides...and I always park away from masses and walk; really irritates me that people are so careless and don't give a crap about others.

Yep, I'm w/you 100%. But I always think pos - look at all us "good" Pcar owners. We're the good people, because we care about our cars and others cars.

Oh yah, pedal to the metal! Pcars rock!

And yeah, it seems to happen from time to time, you park a mile away and still, some silly tu_d parks beside you when he has 500 other slots to park in.....Amazing.

Anyways, you got to love that Pcar! I read some other poster noting the truth....other cars seem "broken" compared to Pcars.

I park a ways out and walk, but a couple of other suggestions.

1. When I can, I parallel park along a curb rather than in lot so nobody can open a door into my baby, and

2. If I do park in a lot, I look for a space where no one can park on the right side of my car. That's because of lot of people parking have just the driver in the car, so it reduces the odds of getting a door ding.

Had my Box for a year now and so far, so good.

hahaha wow! thats a funny yet sad story haha- hopefully she paid for the damage of the "cheaply made tail light"


My dad always parks as far as possible and his cars have been dented twice. Sometimes i think people do it no purpose i swear...just because its a nice car. I park my cars wherever and ive never had any dents on this or any of my previoous cars

Unfortunately, having a nice car often does invite jerks to ding your doors or worse, no matter where you park. When my brother first got the Lexus he had he parked it on an end spot at the movies. Somebody keyed down the whole side of it. They even started over with a new line because the first one I guess they didn't feel was deep enough.

And I agree that parking in two spots invites things to happen. If it's in a crowded parking lot I've been known to leave a note. I figure if you want to park your car in a safer spot you need to be willing to walk to that safer spot and not take up two spots in a full lot.
