Painted Brakes...any other colours??

Hello there,

Next week Im going to paint my callipers.. I have invested in some fancy Brembo stickers (in white and black).

I have a good mate who has a panel shop and is going to do this for me....so....

Does anyone have some nice pictures or suggestions rather than painting them red?? Or is red the best/better look?

Mine is a 2002 2.7 (black brakes). I thought maybe yellow or is this too full on for my car??

Thanks...

Thumbs up

I think the red calipers would compliment your Porsche best. The yellow would look out of place and stand out like a sore thumb.

I also think red would look the best. Check out DJOLMAS's car. He did his in yellow, and with his black wheels, they look great, and different.

I like red.

And at the risk of sounding like a total idiot, I'm going to ask this. Are some callipers just red to begin with or are the red ones painted? When I ordered my car the wheels I chose had red callipers in the showroom, but mine are black. I guess I just assumed they'd be red.

hey lb, depends on what car you are looking at....your boxster and my base boxster get the black calipers.....the S I believe has the bigger brakes and the flashy red calipers....Porsche then offers ceramics which I believe come with Yellow Calipers....since your rims are upgrades, they may have been on a cayman S or box S when you saw them?

so you can get yours red, but then some may call you a poser saying you want your base to look like an S...lol...it has happened here before...when you may just want red, calipers

On a side note, I clicked on that link and emailed the company....looks like I'll be getting mine painted white shortly....now to figure out taking the calipers off!

Yes, the car in the showroom was a Cayman S. It's not a big deal really. I just think the red ones look neat.

i think Yellow looks better on the Darker Blues, Blacks & whites... Also DJ's car cause of his Body color and rim color combo but red seems to go well with all the other colors

I believe the calipers color is based on the car's trim. Red is for the S and black for the rest.

I really like the understated looks of the stock black/gray calipers myself. Seems like every other car I see on the road these days has calipers that their owner has painted red, and while I know this color is stock on the S, I don't necessarily think that they look "better" just because they are an eye-catching color. But what do I know, I am noob.

i think on a grey car, red would be your best choice!
i don't like grey/yellow...doesn't go well! you can't do yellow calipers on too many colours.

Thanks for the feedback..

Just recieved my White and Black set of Brembo stickers .

Red it is...if I had black rims then I would have gone yellow...

Will post some pics next week when done.

Caio.
