Calling All Car-Bra Owners!

Hi all! It has been about 4 months since I first put on my colgan bra and now my car is long overdue for a cleaning and waxing so I have some questions!

1) I am thinking it is a good idea to clean off both the inside (to not scratch paint) and outside (to not look like crap) of the bra. Advice on cleaning both the inside and outside?

2) I have had my car garaged when not in use for the last 4 months. For the next 8 months at least, it will be out in the weather everyday. I plan on putting on a good coat of synthetic wax tomorrow, but should I be worried about a soggy bra sitting on my car's hood? (mildew/mold/corrosion?)

Thanks all!

Only use a car bra when driving...never just leave it on and forget it. As moisture and dust accumulate underneath, it will damage the clearcoat, causing scratching and haze. Upon arrival at your destination, remove the bra and place in the trunk; reinstall as needed. Pay close attention to the inner felt lining; any accumulated gravel, sand, etc. will grind against your finish. Clean with water and a brush and let dry before using.

Good advice!

I only use mine on long runs, especially freeway to prevent stone chipping. I don't leave it on or use it constantly because with Guards Red, there's the danger of paint fade and a mark showing.

Also, I got one of those directional nylon Lint Brushes (actually it's our old one) which I use to brush away dirt and debris from the felt lining, and also to keep it fluffed up for maximum abrasion resistance - works great on the soft Top too.

Go for paint protection Film. Go to a high end car dealer and they usually have one or two done. You can't see it!
