CDR 220 and stock speaker question

I am a new member and am blown away by the forum, I have read and learned so much.

My question is...can I add aftermarket speakers without changing out my stock stereo and amp set up. And, I have no sound from my door speakers, is that a common problem with the stereo or amp? Just looking for feedback. Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum!

All I can about your question is that you can indeed change the speakers to aftermarket ones, and use the stock amp and radio. But you need to make sure that the speakers are within the power range of the current speakers. I am not sure about the door speakers not working. If you search you'll be able to find info on this. :D

Your door speakers are woofers and you won't hear mids and high notes from them. You will see some improvement in sound if you replace the dash speakers with a set of speakers in the proper range. Look here and renntech, there are threads about upgrading the amp too. Blaupunk makes an amp that will fit and use factory wiring. I have it book marked on my other computer. I'll post it later.
