Zaino - Chicago
Hey Guys !
I ran out of Z-6 yesterday and I was going to order some more until I noticed that even though the product is only $9.95 it is $8.95 for shipping. So, I was wondering if anyone else in the Chicagoland area needed to stock up on their Zaino products and I could place a bulk order to make the shipping worthwhile ? Here's a list of locals that I thought might be interested : Sammy xxxalexxxx hjkim550 djomlas Chills bmussatti bmx672 xclusivecar super66 shaman1204 Please respond by Friday morning and I'll place the order and we can meet up and get our product. I'll front the costs and pay for shipping. Thanks, Nick |

Nick,
ill let u know before friday for sure, i gotta check w my buddy couse i remember him telling me he wants to order something sometimes soon. ill be prolly getting some z2, but have to make sure still....like i said, ill let u know before friday. |
Nick,
I most definitely am interested. I have been searching this forum and sifting through perfectlaps recommendations in trying to decide what I should use on my car. Mine is GT silver as you know and does not require the level of detailing as your black car. I just have odd bits and pieces from Mcguire's and local autoshops and need to start from scratch. Have any recs? I will continue to search and let you know about what I would like in bulk. I can then pay you back when I meet you guys at the autocross. Thanks, |
hjkim550,
All I really use is Z-5 and Z-6. The Z-5 is like wax, and works better than anything I have ever used. The Z-6 is just a quick detailer and works great between washes. The Z-5 is great for black because it helps remove swirl marks and fine scratches. With your color car, Z-2 would probably be better. Hopefully Perfectlap will chime in ( he's our resident expert ). Hope that helps... Nick |
ah if you only posted this last week...i stocked up last thurs.
Thanks though :) |

sjkim550 -- I recommend the Zaino system. Here is a link to my post that describes my experiences with it: http://986forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13801&highlight=detailing If anything, I'm even more pleased over time. The car still has a nice shine to it. |
Im in!
hey guys - Im a new Chicago addition and wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Im sure well meet soon...my "new" 99 Boxster is being loaded on a truck Friday and being shipped here from florida; I cannot wait!!!
Man am I overwhelmed with Boxster info....stereo upgrades, wheels, tires, bodykits, desnorkeling and now....car wash?! I never knew there was so much to owning a cool car. I feel like even more of a rook now than when I decided to get the thing. I guess Ill get the works and follow your lead...I dont know if it has/had a clear coat on it (its a 99), so Im probably best going with Z3, yes? Z5, Z6 & Z7...any other recommendations and on how many bottles to get? Let me know and I can paypal you if you like, eric chez |

Ugghh...
Perfectlap.... I have been looking at your numerous posts in various threads. Your recommendations have changed over time. I know you have answered this question ad nauseum but what products do you use? I am just curious as to the list of products. You do not have to list the various steps that you use in cleaning, claying, waxing and so forth. Anyone can look up the various threads that you have posted by searching just the simple word detailing and will find numerous posts by you. It would help me to know what products you are currently using. Thanks, |
Hey Fatmike,
Thanks for the heads up. I actually found your thread and your cute daughter when I was searching earlier this year in trying to decide what to do so far as my detailing regimen. (My two boys are about the same age as your daughter and just as bored when I am cleaning the Boxster.... ) I just want to find a regimen that is simple and easy. I know it will take some time to do it right but I want to find and stick to a method that works well with little fuss. |
I'll send you a PM from someone who asked a similar question recently.
I do change products often! Unless I'm really blown away by a certain product I will usually try a different product line when it comes time to reorder. |

The funniest part is I thought we were having fun... I am not an "expert" at this at all. There are definitely folks on this forum who are much more experienced at detailing. I am just a novice who did my research and had some initial success. I do recommend a random orbit buffer for a polish, its much easier to use than you think & it really makes a difference. Definitely clay first. Zaino has a system that is easy enough to use once you study it a little (my link will give you the basics). I am happy with the results and feel I got my money's worth (both actual and time invested). Good luck with your efforts and post pictures when your done! |
Nick,
put me down for a bottle of Z2 Pro :) |
Ok, here's what I have so far :
Nick Z-6 $9.95 Bill Z-7 $8.95 Z-5 $16.95 Super Z-2 $14.95 Z-6 $9.95 Z-5 $16.95 Eric Z-3 $14.95 Z-5 $16.95 Z-6 $9.95 Z-7 $8.95 Djomlas Z-2 $14.95 Total : $143.45 I will be out of the office tomorrow, but will check the forum Friday morning and place the order. ( Eric - please PM your address and phone number before I add you to the order. No offense, just want to be sure everything's legit due to your low post count. Thanks ) Nick |
has anyone used their plastic cleaner? I mean my "clear" bra is vomit material :D
or is that plexus or watever the way to go? |
Hey Nick,
I sent you a PM regarding my order with Zaino. Thank you again. Perfectlap, thank you for your recommendations and I will be ordering quality towels for my detailing work. Since you seem to be the resident expert here on detailing, I will try new products and your regimen from your numerous posts; past and present. |
