Rats forgot to count top down days .... was a lot for sure!
Not to mention all the time spent here thanks to everyone for all the tips, help, photos, opinions, info, and laughs even.

Here is a shot of my only previous sports car experience ... took a test ride.... only if.....

three of the most dangerous rides in town: unsafe at anyspeed, unsafe at high speed, and very unsafe parked.

seems a lot of time wasted in between (just the sports car part) .
Year 2 starts now

Congrats on the first year of ownership. I had to cringe a little when I saw your breakdown on the costs associated with ownership. I have had my 2000 base Boxster for almost two years now and over that time put on close to 30K miles on the car. At one point I made the mistake of tallying up the money I had spent maintaining, replacing parts, and modding the car. It ended up being more than the 21K I paid for for the car! I dont keep track of the cost of ownership any more, I just enjoy the experience....

Some of these used Boxsters can be like boats.

finance wise.

Hey rockbox,

Congrats!!

Keep on keepin' on!!

BTW, I'm nowhere near Ed's expenses (whew!!), but I certainly don't want to tally mine up either! :D

Tomorrow, 1 April, will mark my 1 year of ownership.

2007/Boxster S

Daily driver (40 miles each way). I have 15,967 miles on it.

I haven't kept the records like Rockbox, but my only cost has been $225 for an oil change (dealer) and $75 for another oil change I did myself.

Since I will be coming up on my 20k miles inspection soon, I guess the cost of ownership will increase . As a starter, I am very close to needing new rear tires.

To date, it has been a dependable vehicle and a joy to drive. Why did I wait so long to buy one???

Wow, you've kept really good track of everything. Your pic of the Triumph reminds me of my dad riding around in Triumphs and MGs when I was a kid. Maybe that's where my love of sports cars started. As a baby I rode in a basket on the back shelf of an MG, before people had car seats and stuff like that. :D I just went to a British car show with him this weekend.

Enjoy the next year of your Boxster's life!
