Removing hood crest?

Does the hood crest have screw off fasteners or are they pulled off? I tried to loosen it by using a flat nose pliers, it freed up a bit but did not release. Is there a mm size to the clamp/nuts as they look hexagonal? Any advice for removal?

There's one or two 10mm nuts that hold it on. May take a little prying to get the gasket loose after that.

They're just sheet metal nuts. Take care when tightening them - if you over-tighten them (easy to do), they'll 'strip' and you won't get them, or the badge, tight.

A 10mm nutdriver works well here because it's easier to tighten them w/o stripping. If using a socket and extension, don't use the ratchet handle, just turn the extension between your fingers - you'll have a much better feel for when they snug up.

Thanks

for the info. The 10mm nutdriver sounds like the best solution as I cannot get a socket up in the opening. Thanks again,

Mine 2001 was an 8mm.
