Congestion at the wallet
Is open season on drivers again. Nothing I despise more than a disingenuous politician. The problem is that's norm for that profession. Examining their veracity, what little they have, here is a brief record:
Toll at bridges were for repayment of the construction of the bridges only. General fund. A big lie. Toll on highways were for maintenance of the highway. General Fund. A big lie. Tax on gasoline was for highways. general funds. Another outrageous lie. Tax on congestion. general funds. London's is even $60USD a day. Manhattan is $8 per occurance. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/feature/story.cfm?c_id=26&objectid=10495140 All methods enrich the city coffers and none fix anything other than revenue enhacements methods. Bring back Caligula horses as senators and jackasses as congress man. Do the same job plus you have usable fertilizers. :) |
I could see them wanting to tax gas guzzlers to deter people from buying low mpg cars, but singling out Porsche is ridiculous. What about all the SUV, Lambo's (9mpg), and other cars that get even worst milage than most Porsche's. It's crazy to think that Porsche is solely responsible for all of the gas guzzlers in London.
Personally, if I was the mayor, I wouldn't face off against a billion dollar company, like Porsche. |
It is clear to me that most govts only see us peons as a source of money and someone who can be controlled.
To paraphrase old Willie, "First of all, lets kill all the politicians!" |
Here, Here to what Bruce/Willie said!!
