Hey guys, just bought a Boxster. How did I do?

Just picked up a boxster last week and it is a blast. I own a 350z too, but this thing is totally different. Much more refined.

The details... Its a 2002 Boxster non-S with tiptronic and 64K miles. The back window has a rip. I already ordered a new plastic piece to sew in from ebay. I paid 17K even for it. The interior looks great, I just need to clean up the shift knob. I guess the last owner had dirty hands.

I would get some pictures but its been very nasty here the last week with snow. Haven't even been able to drive it since I parked it from the dealership! So, how did I do on the price? Is it what I would expect to pay? I kind of bought it on a whim.

Just wanted to say hey, this is my first Porsche.

I'm not an expert so i can't comment on the price.

But I can tell say, best of luck and have a great time.

Where did you buy in Illinois? I hope you did a Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI). Buying the car is the easy part. Paying for proper maintenance is where it gets tricky and expensive.

Congrats on the new car. :)

Welcome,
How did you do?
Do You like it? You did good.
Will you like it down the road? You will. You did good.
Does it bring a smile to your face? You did good.
In other words, enjoy the car.

exactly!!

I started looking at 2000 - 2002 Ss. Then I found that starting in 2003 they had glass rear windows instead of that old MG crap. So........now it's 03 or newer. Then I screwed up and clicked a wrong link on Cars.com and,.....whalla!! What the hell is this?!! Oh, look at the difference in the 05s and newer.......hmmmmm.
Next I talked to my bestest, oldest buddy, who's had an independant german car shop in Macon, for like 35 years, and he told me if I didn't buy one from the local dealer, with Porshe Certification, he was gonna come down here and kick my *ss. He said he placed a $7500 value on that Certification, so go look at anything you want and see if you can get it for $7500 less.

The moral of the story.........you only live once, LIVE!!

I got it from my uncle that lives in atlanta. I went down there to trade in a car just to get the money but ended up spending money haha. That's how it always goes.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. It is finally in the 60's today so Im going to go out and clean that sucker up!
