Is this real or fake?

I've seen this pic surface from time to time. Anyone know if this is the deal or a photoshop job?

blue2000s 01-03-2008 09:49 AM

It's a fake.

Gary in BR 01-03-2008 10:01 AM

Very, very fake.

Bighead 01-03-2008 10:38 AM

maybe fake...but very funny.

Come to think of it, if that beast drives the front wheels while maintaining the mid-engine and rear axles, this would be a true-hybrid! Watch-out understeer!

porsche986spyder 01-03-2008 10:39 AM

Thats sooo fake. What kind of a person would leave the carpet inside the engine bay area anyway. Dead give-a-way. ;)

Chills 01-03-2008 10:43 AM

I agree with ^^^

Plus, look at the way the hoses meet the front end of the bay. That looks very PSed. There's no shadowing or depth.

I don't know if it's intentional or not but you can see the reflection of the Vette in the Boxster.

Yep, I noticed that one too. Also noticed a small patch of concrete that is showing through the bottom of the engine area. It's not even the same color as the rest of the ground around it. It's lighter in color. ;)

I've seen that picture, I always wondered about it. If you want the link to the guys website I can post it.

Anyone who's actually seen the L98 in person can tell you that the scale of the photo is also completely off. The engine wouldn't even come close to fitting in that location, because it's far larger than it appears in that photo.

Good catch. And if you notice in the reflection the hood is up on the Vette so he could take a picture of the engine to later crop it into the Boxster.

I know it is a fake, due to the fact I have known Barry Bronson for about 7 years. He is a local 2000 S owner. He also owns a Corvette.

Another version that has nothing to do with Barry, is a Cayenne engine in the front of a Boxster.

But no picture, since it seems the upload function is not working.

That is fake however, this is not. I saw this beaut in person at a Porsche meet. What a waste.

Thats got to be a handful to drive. :barf:

yellowboxster01 01-04-2008 07:10 PM

That guy was bragging about the ass end sliding out around the corners like it was some beast. My take, the early 911 handled like **************** because the motor hung so far out off the ass end. He put more weight in the rear and more hp and wow it handles even worse. Big surprise....moron!

That was just blasphemy and the RUF guys were just shaking their head, laughing. It didn't get any respect and the only reason people were looking is because they were so surprised he had the balls to bring that to a Porsche event. Of course they thought it was because it was "badass".haha
