Chipping my 97 ?

Appreciate any valuable info from anyone that has either installed or had professionally installed a performance chip in their boxster. Any problems after installed with dash lights or warnings? was it worth it? is it as good as the chip manufactures make it out to be? Who did you use.

97 Boxster (red) w/blk int. w/48,000 miles
excellent cond.

Too much money, very little power gain.

There are a lot of posts on this. I think most people who have done them like them. There will be very subtle differences in the way the engine accelerates but if you look at the dyno's they just aren't worth the money they cost. Take the $$$ it will cost you and put it towards a supercharger.

Thanks for the info, I'm new to the Forum and could not find much on chips for Boxsters. (where would I find additional posts on this)
I thought of looking into the Supercharger but what's the downside to the engine and the long term effects.

Go to the main page and use the search function. I searched chip upgrade a few moments ago and got 2 pages of articles.
