side skirts and chip
I got a lump of cash for the holiday so, I figure I'll throw some more money at the Box. Cat bypass pipes for the second set, performance chip, some carbon fiber in the interior, and side skirts.
Who makes good side skirts that look like the GT3 skirts. I'm not really concerned whether they're fiberglass or not but, I'm willing to pay for quality. Performance chip, I know of one that Performance Parts sells but, can't seem to find anymore. Can I get some input on which would be a better choice? thanks and happy holidays. :D |
I have the GT3 skirts from here

How was the fit on those? I assume you installed them yourself judging by the badassness of your 986. Gaps? Craftsmanship?
I'm prepping, painting, and installing these myself cause, that's what I do for a living. Minus the painting part but, my boss insists that I paint them myself. I'm working on a deal with our painter because, they would look soooo much better if he at least laid the paint. I'll do the rest, no problem. |
I have the same GT3 skirts that Gary has. I'm not impressed with the quality and they're fiberglass.
This is just my opinion, but if I were you I'd buy polyurethane rocker panels from Porsche. You'll pay more for them, but the plastic has some give to it, holds paint better (if flex additive is put in the mix) and is guaranteed to have a good fit and finish. BTW, that must have been a BIG wad of cash. Good for you! |

Good size wad and I'm only spending a 1/3 of it. Thanks to giving deep pockets of my father.:) |
Randell is right the quality was not top of the line, but the bodyshop I had install them did what needed to be done and now they look great.
The original fitting was not tight at all to the body. They attached a few extra screws here and there, filled in the holes on the skirts and now they are tight and flush. I'm happy with them. But if I where to have left them as they originally went on I would not had been happy. |
