The lower mileage one appears to be an automatic car - per picture. I am going to call up the dealership on Monday to see if it is a manual or automatic. Assuming they had the wrong pictures and it is a manual, which one would you go over? What maintenance needs to be done at around 58,000 miles beyond the oil & filter change?

Thanks,

Dave

My suggestion is to go for the car with the significantly lower miles, and try to bargain on the price. On either car, make sure you can get the mechanical history of both before deciding. I would recommend only buying a Porsche that has been maintained properly.

How about this one? http://www.lexusofdayton.com/VehicleDetails/860536944
It has PSM. You can tell by looking at the option list, I believe it is 476. Look at picture #11 of the above link, you will notice that there is a button on top that has the following "PSM OFF" written on it. Good luck w/you search.

Dave, the lower mileage car clearly states the car is a 6-speed manual.

In a lot of ways, both cars should have similar maintenance, since a lot of things are also based on time, not just mileage.

For example brake fluid flush every 2 years. A yearly oil change regardless of mileage. Both cars should have had the plugs change since they are 6-7 years old. About the only difference would be something like the serpt. belt. The higher milegae car should have this done at the 60K.

In the description of the $29K car, they say its a Tiptronic (in addition to saying its a 6 spd). I think the pics bear out the fact it's an automatic. The stealer wants WAY too much for this car. The Tip adds approx $1K, according to NADA. They are about $3-4K too high. Plus they have several other 986s, so they should be willing to deal.

The other one is priced right, but you should be able to find one with fewer miles.
