bought a hardtop in texas - how to get it to NY
Ok so I bought someones hardtop in texas now I have to figure out how to get it to NY without going to pick it up. That is not an option. Has anyone shipped a top before, if so what company did you use and what did you have to do to ship it. Do you need to put it on a pallet?
any help you can give me would be awesome. I just got my top so I can start making my car into a track car.

The top is about the size of a pallet. They were originally shipped in giant wooden boxes. Your best bet would be to pay a professional shipping company to do it. I hope you didn't pay to much for the top, because it will probably be about $300 to ship.

Check out uship.com
You can name your price and people will pick up the shipment. Or you can take bids and pick the lowest.

thanks I have contacted a couple of the places. I got a decent deal on the top, it was $1100, but it was in silver which is the color I wanted and they are not easy to find. So if it ends up costing $1400 I am ok with that.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but what does a hard top have to do with tracking? Unless it is raining, I put my top down.

Some racing events require the Boxster to have a hardtop.

a hardtop is required by pca for racing or you need arm restraints. I would also never go on the track with the top down, that is the most dangerous thing you can do. I won't instruct people in convertibles without hardtop and full roll cage.
