Ok, so my new rims are 18X10 in the rear with 265 35 18, so i got bored and decided just to put the rim on the car, its a 1999. so i put the rim on but i didn't lower it still on the jack. and it looks like there very small space between the rim and i believe the shock absorber with out the tire on. so no im nervous will these rims with 265 35 18 fit on the rear of my car?? or was it because my car was not lowered still on the jack??? sorry guys for so many questions.

OK even though you puked on my wheels and dissed my ride..I have an idea for you. To safely check whether the geometry is differing because of being jacked up or whether it's an optical illusion, you need to put your factory scissors jack in place. Then you can control lowering or raising the car smoothly and infinately. This way you can check your clearances without fear of damaging the new wheels, good luck.

Ok, nickcats has the same tires 8" turbo twists ( 993 Turbo Look/Technology )

Nexen N3000 tires on the rear ( 265/35RR18 ) and Fulda Carat Extremo tires on the front ( 225/40ZR18 )

and it fits on his 99 fine. so am i fine???

It all comes down to wheel offset. The 265-35-18 was the factory size rear tire when Boxsters were ordered with 18" rims (admittedly, on 9" wide for boxsters), so I wouldn't worry about the tire.. I would worry about the rim.

The suggestion above (xusmnj....)my post is a great idea. Be sure to put a towel/cloth on your jack so you don't scratch your rim either.

My guess is that, with the car merely raised, the clerance is tighter than when the car is lowered, due to the movement of the rear suspension.

my off set for the rear is, 40MM REAR, am i fine ???

You got the wheels off of eBay correct? If I remember correctly the link I saw had big offsets,meaning you'd need spacers. What are the offset specs?

My guess is you'll need 5mm spacers. My rears are 18 X 10 with ET 47...I still rubbed the parking brake cable, but cleared everything else.

you cant turn a ET of 40mm to 47 with a spacer... doesn't work like that... a 40mm offset should be fine, if that is what you have. Its hard to tell since its jacked up... I run OEM carrera lightweights that are with my 15mm spacers a total offset of less than 40mm so that pushes my wheels out away from the brakes... Now if your wheels do rub then you may want to make sure you have the proper offset... 911 rims have an offset of 65 which requires at least a 15 mm spacer to get it near (<50ET) proper offset of the boxster. Now you are going to be stretching the 265s quite a bit to fit on these 10" rims so if your rim is fine your tire plus rim should be fine too...

I am running 19x10 with 285/30s on my rear with no problem, I've installed 5mm spacers just for looks, not for clearing issues, in fact I did not even add the spacers until a few months ago.

Remember my car was lowered with elbachs and now 2 inches lower than oem on coilovers. Though all of that I did not have any issues.
