litronics adjustment

put in my new lights, and they are all over the place LOL
anyone have any ideas on adjusting the beam on these?

In the manual, the directions for the Halogens are the same for the Litronics.
If you had the control box like me, you could turn the headlight switch on, then turn the ignition on and the litronics will self adjust by themselves

DJ, I can help out, there is a section in the owners manual on this, mine was an adendum. One thing I found was the adjusters on my lights were reversed from one side to the other and didn't match the directions. That is to say the lower adjust port on one side was L/R on the other it was up/down and vise versa. Make sure you label the adjusters or be aware of this in case your lights are like mine, (purchased at Suncoast). Anyhow, it's a process that requires patience. I did mine in the summer, left the wrench in the trunk and micro tweaked the lights till I was satisfied, it helps to have someone sit in the car, I think Porsche says 175 pounds of weight without person in drivers seat, where you are supposed to get that wasn't coevered! good luck.

I think this happened with my car when I got my Carrera litronics. And I think it's because I didn't have the control unit installed. So what the shop did was found a donor 911 (Turbo actually) that had litronics, took them out, and put mine in. By doing that, it aimed the lights in to a neutral position (because they've got that motor inside that moves them up and down).

So find some one willing that has litronics -with the control unit installed. Take their lights out, put yours in. Start the car, turn on the lights... turn off the car/lights and now put them back in your car. Make sense? That might help.

Keep us posted.

That's an interesting solution, it's been a while but I thought the wiring was different from litronic w/ module to without.

For my car specifically there was some trickery involved with wiring -since I've got the 04 996 conversion front end. But for a 986 w/ litronics to a 986 w/o litronics, it should work without conflict I'm quite sure.
