CD Changer

Hi guys and gals.

Quick question! I hopefully get my car on Saturday, and was just wondering if its possible to add a CD multichanger to the standard Porsche system? Or even better an ipod connector.

Thanks for any help.

Phil

Congrats on your new (to you if used) Boxster. You need to post a pix of it before anyone is allowed to give you answers to your question....

Just kidding, yes both and/or either is possible depending on MY and sound system you have. Need to know those details before we can recommend solutions.

Photos to follow on Saturday :)

Its a 2007 with the upgraded sound package (if that helps). Any ideas on cost?

Phil,

If I’m not mistaken, you bought a new ( 987 ) Boxster.

Here are the options I am aware of :

Dension ( $450 ) :

Dice ( $600 ) :

Dealer ( $680 for iPod / $890 for CD changer ) :

spec.dock ( $600 ) :

harmon/kardon ( $400 ) :

( I am assuming your car is has the MOST fiber optic system )

You also might want to try this :

I use this in my Benz ( my 986 is hardwired for an iPod ). I went through half a dozen FM modulators before I tried this one and it works great. Might be worth a try for $35 before you shell out $5-600 for the full integration.

By the way, are you in Birmingham, AL or Birmingham, England ?

Hope this helps…

Nick

Try:
epiqautosport.com
They have the basic 3.5mm, AUX input jack, I bought one then bought a PIE RCA-POD cable so my iPod is connected and charged, but is controlled through the iPod. It is a very clean setup, check my registry page (sig.) for more info.

UPDATE:
Discard This ^, I didn't catch the thread starter has a 987.
Thanks NickCats!
