Ok... last post for the night. I resized the official press release photos for the common monitor resolutions. Enjoy.

WHOA!!! Is it just me or do I see subwoofers in the doors of the 987 look closely at the interior!!!

go to the interactive website they put up. then click on boxster details. Once the hugh flash file loads you get this cool walk around of the car... including details on the stereo. Not only are there extra speakers in the doors now theres a hugh sub-woofer behind the seats. The special stereo package has something like 13 speakers. for the porsche/audiophile thats going to be bliss.

I was wrong about the 13 speakers... its *only* 11. heh. Here are some screen shots from the flash site Porsche did... the top one is that big woofer behind the seats.

Love the wheels, calipers and especially the SOUND SYSTEM! OUTSTANDING! :D i think porsche got a lot right with this version of the boxster.

wow PCCB kit! Those things on a Boxster might cause your eyes to pop out if you stand on the brakes.

QPorscheQ - I like your new signature,

Those wheels look like something out of a B sci-fi movie. I can't quite see why they went towards classic/retro on the headlights while while going plastic/techno-futuristic on the wheels. I guess it matches the tension between the retro leather dash stitching and air vents paired with the Japanese hi-function steering wheel.

The active suspension and engine specs sound like an improvement but the styling leaves me wondering if I will respect this car in the showroom.

Here's another photo from the 987 preview site. I really like this new interior color. Looks like the same as the special edition 986.

I notice that little wedge of metal at the top of the sheetmetal behind the door line is gone. I guess that means no more roof transport system - or a new mounting point.

I like the fact that the new Boxster allows you to raise and lower the top upto 31mph like the 996/997 Cabriolet.

Its interesting that PSM is now standard, I hope the new Bose system is something amazing.

Not exactly excited about the lines on the new tail lights.

The site did confirm my spy photos taken Memorial Day weekend in South Alabama that the roll bars are different than the current ones. They are a little more squared at the top, along with the tops of the seats.

The addition of tilt to the telescopic steering wheel should be nice.

I like the wider sheetmetal front and back.

I don't care for the window switch placement at the door handle. I'd have to see it in person.

280 HP in the S car should be a lot of fun. Overall the body is cleaner, less lines and odd little filler pieces. The interior is ok, no major objections, although all that I have seen have been full leather.

Look forward to seeing one in person, especially in Guards Red.

This is one of the few mods I did for my Boxster (besides safety gear for the track.) It is definitely my favorite.
