Airbag Light -- Indicating?
I had to go into the RHS door to adjust the window glass forward. In doing so I had to remove the air bag which required disconnecting the -ve terminal on the battery. I also couldn't at first see how to do disconnect the yellow connector for the airbag and in trying I took a purple cover off connector before finding the simple way.( Is this cover on the connector the short circuit spring? If so, I read that it should not be removed but don't understand why.)
Anyway I put everything back OK but the "airbag light " stays on ! I thought the conection to the airbag may not have been made properly but on checking it was OK and there is a voltage at the terminal albeit a fluctuating one. I may have turned the power on with the airbag disconnected so would this register as a fault that has to be cleared or have I goofed elsewhere? Chees, Glenn |
If the ignition is turned on with an air bag disconnected then you will get the light.

Wow that was an "express" reply -- Thanks!
Does that mean I have to go to a Dealership to have it cleared? Glenn |
You need a PST2 or PIWIS or Durametric to turn it off.
We started a list of people who have this but nothing yet for Australia. |
I guess it will have to wait till the next service or I'm visiting Sydney as the nearest dealership is 400 Kms. away.
Thanks again I really appreciate your help. Glenn |
