Changing the clutch is a ********************, you have to unmount the tranny, and I believe for the clutch you have to attach the engine to a crane thru the clamshell and disconnect it from the engine mounts so you can properly seperate the housings. But $2200 for just labor is highway robbery.
My mechanic quoted me about 8 hours or so, maybe 10 at the most. At his rate that's about $800 for labor. I once considered doing it myself, but unless you have a crane and a garage full of tools, it's probably not worth it. Shop around your area for a good Porsche mechanic and you should be able to find a better deal.
i paid 475 in new jersey for labor and then 280 for the clutch off of ebay.. I got my belt changed as well he charged me 25 for that . Also had my RMS replaced during the clutch which a must when u do the clutch. 800 it cost me for the entire job . I think the RMS was like 15-20 at the dealership. It all depends on who you go to and what their hrly is.
