A little rumble right at 3k RPM

I noticed a bit of a vibration or rumble earlier this year when the engine hits about 3kRPM. It seemed to only happen when the AC was on, under light load. Now it's happening a bit without the AC on, like when I'm cruising on the freeway.

I figure I should replace the main belt, since I just turned 50k miles... Would everyone agree that might could be the cause? Any other ideas?

Your engine mount is toast. Replace it and the rumble will go away.

Whoa! motor mounts, huh?

They're not that hard to replace, are they? (I've swapped 911 engines and stuff, I think I can handle it!)

The motor mount is pretty easy to do.

I'll start looking into that... I'll probably also replace the belt just for some peace of mind!

Is there a way to fill the transmission mounts with the same stuff as the old repaired motor mounts?

I've seen people refurbish motor mounts by filling in around the bushing with some kind of polyurethane stuff...

I figure I'll get up under it and check to see which may actually be bad... and just replace them with stock mounts. Since it's my DD, no need to go crazy with real stiff mounts!
